As an experienced home builder and remodeler, John Marsiglia’s fascination with solar energy developed long before he entered the industry. “Growing up in the 70s and 80s means I remember when solar calculators and watches were actually a novelty,” said John. “And, the only time you’d actually see a solar powered home was when you went to the movies.”

It wasn’t until the early 2000’s that solar energy in homes began to take off, in large part due to federal incentives and increased affordability. That’s also when John’s interest in the industry also grew. “Terms like sustainability and carbon footprint take on new meaning once you become a parent,” said John. “When my daughter was born I realized that being responsible for her health and well-being went far beyond healthy food and doctors appointments. The picture is so much bigger than that. To truly thrive, you need a healthy environment.  And, when I’m doing what I can to create a healthier planet, I know I’m also helping to create a healthier future for her.” 

After college, John worked as a financial advisor for two major firms in the Baltimore area. It was this experience which helped to lay the groundwork for his successful 30 year career in the mortgage and lending industry. 

Though John continues helping individuals and families with their mortgage needs, he recently turned his passion for learning and his interest in renewable energy and solar power systems in a new career.
